Frio Canyon EMS submits financial report

The Frio Canyon EMS, Inc. submitted a financial report to Real County Commissioners’ Court this month, fiscal year ending June 30, 2008. Memorial donations for the year totaled $13,972. Total donations and income were $262,872. Income from ambulance transports was $52,684.

Total expenditures and capital outlay were $132,550 leaving a net income of $130,322. The largest expenditures were employee wages and insurance.

Total current assets (not fixed) were $285,710 of which $107,986 are held in Certificates of Deposits with the First State Bank, Frio Canyon Branch. $73,429 are designated for the Building Fund.

Because Real County gives some financial support to the EMS, they require a report be submitted annually to Commissioners for review.

The Frio Canyon EMS rushed to this motorcycle accident near the Frio Canyon Motorcycle Stop west of Leakey on RR337. The biker, from the Houston Heights, said a vehicle turning into some cabins, slammed him. His injuries appeared minor. The accident occurred November 1, 2008 around noon. A large number of bikers are in the area enjoying the scenic rides. Everyone is asked to drive with caution.
